Actually (unfortunately) I had read all of that and considered it before writing what I wrote.

If that’s true, then I apologize for mistaking the fact that you didn’t understand the origin of the phrase or it’s substitute meaning as being because you didn’t read the thread(s). Clearly there were other reasons at play.

You clearly don’t understand what the words “in context” mean. Imagine Al Franken had a conversation with Rush Limbaugh where he decided to say “Yo, fathead” every time he really meant “Look that up on Wikipedia.” Using “Yo, fathead” to mean what Franken meant would not be using it in context.

Oh I understand what it means. It has to do with “the parts of a written or spoken statement that precede or follow a specific word or passage, usually influencing its meaning or effect” and “the set of circumstances or facts that surround a particular event or situation”. I’ve clearly shown that my use of “Let’s go to the quarry and throw stuff down there” fits those criteria.

Ann: You, know, Bob, it really is annoying when you fart in elevators like that.
Bob: It makes me giggle, Ann. Let’s see if I can squeeze out another one.
Yeah, that’s being intentionally obnoxious.

This is just more blather whereby you are trying to justify the attitude that a request must be honored, which makes your request, in actuality, a demand.
Try this one on, and tell me why you shouldn’t honor my “request”: The use of your nickname “Wombat” in every post offends me. Wombats once killed a puppy I had, and seeing your nickname reminds me of that and all the pain and emotional anguish I went through. Please stop using your nickname.
Now, if you don’t stop using your nickname, are you being a jerk? By continuing to use your nickname, you will be deliberately causing me offense, according to your own logic, right?
No. It does not have a specific meaning, unless you’re talking about real quarries. You are trying to give it a meaning, which is something completely different.
I didn’t give it this meaning. Some guy who works with Chessic Sense did. If you read the threads, how it that you don’t know this?
Perhaps when Frank was annoyed enough to start a Pit thread about how annoying it was, and you used the phrase repeatedly in responding to the thread, people got the impression you were doing it just to be a jerk.
In fact, in the Pit thread, I used “Let’s go to the quarry and throw stuff down there” a total of 6 times and several of those were expository in nature.
Besides, it’s the Pit, where we can be somewhat jerkish. I thought that was the whole point of the Pit:

Throughout this whole thing, I haven’t insulted other posters, nor have I lied about things other posters have said, nor have I made up things and claimed other posters said them. I haven’t made bald statements of an intent to troll, nor have I deliberately stalked another poster and then derailed a thread over this. I’m not enjoying having to defend myself, but I will continue to do it if I have to; I see no reason to just meekly submit to bullying.
