Mods, why was my Tom Leykis question taken down?

I framed a great question about radio DJ Tom Leykis, and someone took it down, why?

This’n? Do you ladies admire radio DJ Tom Leykis?

No, that can’t be it. He said he framed a “great” question.

lol gg.

No one took it down. No one touched… at all. It exists in the same state of unanswered virgin majesty as when you framed it. It’s greatness made it too heavy for mortals to comprehend, and it sank beneath the waves when no person could bring them selves to frame a sufficiently great response.

Sometimes greatness is a mighty burden.

GrahamWellington: In other words, nobody replied and it dropped like a stone off the first page. Threads do that when none of the Dopers can even think of a joke to make about the OP.

The mods had nothing to do with it.

When come back, bring giant squid.

I’m really glad I wasn’t drinking anything when I read this.

You, sir, have honed sarcasm to a highly refined and delicate art. I salute you.

I don’t think a lot of ladies who know Tom Leykis’ history would like him very much. He was thrown off Boston radio in the mid-90s after he was arrested for assaulting his wife and throwing her into a fireplace (!) during a Christmas party. His arrest made the pages of the Boston Herald (along with a photo from his arraigment) at the time.

But even before this incident I thought the guy was a total jackass.

Gosh, now I know what to tell myself when one of my own threads sinks to the bottom of the briny deep. Thanks!

D’oh, I forgot to hit the “quote” box. I was replying to astro.

Right. That OP ought to be bronzed.

I remember Leykis publicized the name of the girl in the Kobe Bryant case. That was a valuable public service…

It’s probably gone off looking for adams to count. Adams of every hue.

Has a thread ever sunk all the way to the bottom of the briny deep? Did it stay there long?

Only once, in 1960.

It was there for about 20 minutes, IIRC.

Incident never happened. :wally

Huh?

Maybe it only seemed to have happened.

Of course it happened. I remember it well. It was big news in Boston at the time. My only mistake was writing “during” when I meant to say “after a Christmas party.”

Like my uncle swears he read in the paper that Frank Sinatra kicked Ava Gardener to the curb because she had a black baby!

Did your uncle have a police report to back him up?
