I always enjoyed organic chemistry for that reason. I remember when the prof showed us a molecule named George, and the union of two “George” molecules was called BiGeorge.
This all reminds me very little of the Swedish scientists who discovered the element Nobelium during the second world war.
Not having found it yet themselves, the skeptical American investigators instead called it “Nobelievium”.
