I must say that ignorance has been fought; I simply had no idea that doctors could administer drugs against the patient’s (or patient’s surrogate’s) will. I am utterly and completely horrified. Kiz, I am so sorry.
I am reinforced in my determination that my mother will never again see the inside of a nursing home. If she has to go to the hospital, I will have our attorney call the attending physician. Violate our express will at your own peril, pal.
When my mom was at the rehab facility, I was flabbergasted at how they routinely doped the patients with drugs. Worse, I had to explain to doctors that if they lift her arms beyond the point she says she can lift them, her shoulders would dislocate. Doctors understand nearly zero about arthritis.
