I’ve been up for a while. Long enough to be on campus, in the library and on my third cup of coffee (the first one was at home, the second in the car, ok?)
I’m wearing a white shirt today and I have no intention of being home before, oh, 8 tonight. This is important, I promise.
The first cup went fine, but of course, I was still in what I sleep in (or really what I put on once I roll out of bed, especially since I observed that the neighbor across the way wanders around naked and you can still tell with the blinds closed if the lights are on). The second cup? Also fine, no problem.
So what happened with the third cup? Well, for some reason my travel mug started leaking as I drank from it. Not so much that I lost all my coffee or anything, but enough so that I have coffee stains all over my shirt. There’s a lot of them too, enough so that I could play connect the dots on my shirt. Hey! I found Orion.
sigh
I wonder if I’m a clutz, if the lid has somehow freaked out or of I’ve developed a hole in my chin during the last hour. Either way, I’ll have a spotty shirt all day and look like a student who hasn’t done laundry in weeks (but I did do laundry last wednesday, I swear).
I used to think I was cursed because every time I wore a white shirt I spilled coffee on myself. One day it dawned on me that I almost always wore black or dark colors and that I was always spilling coffee on myself.
One day I was driving to work at my waitressing job with my button-up white shirt. I was juggling a coffee cup, a cigarette, bridge toll, the steering wheel, and the stick shift and was so impressed with myself for not spilling. I don’t know what I was thinking because in fact I was covered with coffee when I walked into work. It was a problem.
I was on lunch break at Sonic once and ordered one of there, over-sized, drinks. I got one good sip in before sluuush, all over me. :smack: There was no way around it, I had to go home and change.
When I was a weee lad in school (7 or 8th grade) I spilled a little chocolate milk on my white shirt, no time to change. So I had to walk around all day marked with a brown spot on me… how embarrassing. :o
