Moneyweek 'The End of Britain' scaremongering or not?

This article http://moneyweek.com/endofbritain/ says some rather startling things about the future of Britain. I’ll admit that I’m not very knowledgeable in the areas covered by the article, however there does seem to be a lot of misleading points if not outright lies included. So can you guys give it a read and show me whether it has any real validity? For the most part it just looks like a ridiculous amount of scaremongering with a couple of facts thrown into the mix.

They’ve been pushing this mercilessly for a while and must’ve paid a lot of money to advertise it. I’ve watched and there’s clearly something not right and I’ve read a couple of debunkings. Their analysis does seem to be severely and probably deliberately flawed.

What I want to know is why they are doing it? I’m no expert in the area I always thought of MoneyWeek as a reasonably respectable publication. What is the agenda? It’s almost as if they are trying to undermine investor confidence and as I said they must’ve spent a ton of money promoting the article and the video.

We survived the Black Death, Spanish Armada, Napoleonic hegemony, the Great Depression and Nazi dominated Europe. Britannia will find a way.

I have wondered about this too. My assumption is that either the magazine is under new ownership who are deliberately sensationalising the content in order to increase readership, or they’re under the same owner and he or she has gone mad.

I read through the first ten or so paragraphs, which had nothing except reiterating how edgy their predictions were. It was like reading a fifteen year-old punk-rockers diary. I gave up after that, but I assume it ends up with boilerplate deficit-scolding.

(scrolling down, I see the usual graph of debt not scaled for inflation, which pretty much confirms they’re being dishonest and you can ignore them).

They’re full of shit.
