Monitor Problems

So I’m sitting at my computer, coding away at the app I never have time to write, when I notice something funny going on with my monitor. Every 3 seconds or so, a collection of very faint, randomly spaced horizontal lines flash across my monitor. They last for a split second, and then go away. They go all the way across the screen, and some seem to be thicker than others. Some of the lines are brighter than the rest of the monitor, and some are darker. It is most noticeable when I’m doing something with a white background, although they are visible no matter what I’m doing. It’s getting quite annoying. Should I start saving up for a new monitor?

Damn. Sorry folks - I just realized my the problem was due to my cordless phone.
