"Monster Mash" Question

Did Bobby “Boris” Pickett misunderstand the title of a Sherlock Holmes story: The Hound of The Baskervilles?

I just re-listened to it and it sounds like he’s singing, “Back-Buyer’s baying hound (s)”?

Surely “Baskerville’s” would have served just as well in that rhyme, yes?

What say you, Cafe Society?

Bwwwwwaaaahaaaaa!

Thanks!

Actually, he’s saying “Igor on chains, backed by his baying hounds”.

Never mind. Beaten.

Ooo, this vid is much better. Of course, by “better,” I mean there’s two really hot guys in it.

Never “beaten”!

Y’all just coincided with your answers, that’s all!

I just “worked” The Hounds of The Baskervilles into that song, all my life!

Thanks for enlightening me, you two!

Santos and Johnny!

Oh-oh!

Do two know each other, and did you once do this song?:

I know!

Just a play on names!

Thanks, youse Guys!

Q

Another “mis-heard” lyric!

Add that one to: “Theeeeeres A Bathroom On The Right”

My all-time fave!

Q

Ya know?

I think Bobby Pickett really put in some good research to make all those words/monsters/actions rhyme correctly. (for want of a better way of putting it!)

By that, I mean he didn’t just repeat stuff over and over (“Mashed Potatoes” comes to mind), but he gave us a “story” a la Ray Stevens, and put it into a Mash-Dancin’ kinda rhythm.

That animation was cool and kept the “intent” of the whole song intact.

Just sayin’!
