I think the most interesting part of the series involved Hitchcock, Tobe Hooper and the making of Silence of the Lambs. It’s interesting how this one strange guy from the midwest 75 years ago had such a lasting impact on pop culture.
I don’t know a great deal about Gein, but I’m sure a lot of this series was fictionalized. Some of it to good effect - I laughed at Gein giving a hook rug demonstration in the mental hospital. And that seems to be the subtext of the whole thing: Murders, grave robbing and making people into furniture aside… Gein seemed like a nice enough guy.
