We were staying at a vacation house a few years ago. This building was down the road, so we passed it every day. The bike was on the ground, neglected.
The building was part of a small flea market that was connected to a home. I stopped one day and asked if I could take some photos. “Sure, go to town ,” the owner replied.
I stood the bike up, pulled away some twigs and leaves that had become a part of it, re-arranged the flowers, propped it against the building, and went to town.

At a country house in the UK owned by some Earl of something. The house had been taken over by a band recording their album and they decided to put their guitars in the hallway.

This is far beyond the contest date, but I took some photos tonight that I like.

Halloween sprinkles and bulk Sixlets. Love the way the individual Sixlets are covered with reflections of the flash.

I walked by this scene yesterday, and thought that it fit the topic reasonably well:

I took this photo on a rainy April 1st in my back yard on Ilford HP5 Plus film with a Canon A-1.

I did not make that:

But I took the picture before eating it. Half of it.

I don’t know why I like this picture so much, but I do.

Passing through the dining room, it looked right.

There’s a story behind this one. I was trying different arrangements of the Russian dolls, but wasn’t really happy with any of them. They all seemed too “posed”. So I took a break, moved the dolls out of the way so I could use the table, in the process setting them down more or less randomly, and set my camera down next to them. Then I came back later, saw them like that, and thought “That’s it!” Having the camera and the book there added that extra je ne sais quoi.

But how did I take the picture when my camera’s on the table, you’re probably asking. That’s a broken camera body that got rained on when I was vacationing in Ireland last summer and hasn’t worked since. I slapped a lens on it and used it as a prop in place of my good camera.
