I’m visiting family for the holidays. My nieces want to make a trip up to Montreal. Are the stores likely to be open regular hours on Monday or do they close for Boxing Day?
Boxing day is the biggest sales day of the year in Canada and especially Montreal. See http://boxingday.redflagdeals.com/?utm_campaign=boxingday&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_content=general&utm_term=boxing%20day%202011. It is like Black Friday in the US (well, they don’t open at midnight). It is inconceivable they would close on it.
Oh good glory, there’s a distinct possibility they’ll be open earlier and/or longer than usual. Not to worry.
Check the stores that you want to go to specifically because they’ll be having huge, major, gigantic sales and it is going to be CROWDED as hell.
Expect stores to open around noon on the 26th. Standard closing time on a Monday would be 5 PM or 6 PM, but I hear many stores will be open until 9 PM on the 26th.
