Monty Python question

I heard on the radio years ago a Monty Python sketch (I think), that involved Palin and Cleese (maybe).

They were having a conversation of nonsense.
One of the lines was “…machine wrapped with butter?”. To which the other replies “Machine wrapped with butter.”

What is the sketch called. What album is it on?

I found his little page but that is unfortunately after doing a quick search I couldnt find what you’re looking for…alot of things are missing though…

Thanks. I checked out the few sketches there I didn’t know, but did not find it.

Bloody Useful Monty Python site though.

You know… I have all their movies on either VHS or DVD. I have the entire TV series in a DVD boxset. I have the Monty Python Instant CD collection, which is all their albums in a CD boxset. I even have some of their live stuff and the rarely seen German episode.

I have no idea what sketch you’re talking about, but I have a good excuse to go on a Python spree for the next 4 days though.

I can pretty much guarantee this was not an MP sketch you heard, if your recall of the line is accurate.

A quick Google search for the phrase shows it up as a lyric from a band called “Ned’s Atomic Dustbin”.

Now oddly enough this band is named after an episode of the Goon Show, but that’s the closest I can see to an MP connection. I know Goon Shows pretty well and I’m not aware any of them contained this line, although it wouldn’t be out of place.

It’s not actually Python, it’s Eric Idle and Neil Innes, from the 1976 album The Rutland Weekend Songbook. The track is titled “Gibberish.”

Bloody WELL DONE **Biffy the Elephant Shrew **.
I wasnt far off.

Cant find anything on the web with the words… I guess I will have to check out the second hand record stores.
