Mooncup-Now available at a pharmacy near you?

You can, but it’s not totally necessary. What I do is empty the cup, wipe the rim and outside with a damp towel that I bring in with me, and then stuff it back in. Then I wipe fingers on another damp towel, dispose of towels in the bin, and go out and wash up. (NB: Wash hands BEFORE entering stall!)

Someone else suggested baby wipes in a Ziploc, which is a good idea that I’ve yet to try out. (mostly because I keep forgetting to buy the things)

**WhyNot ** – I generally don’t have a problem with leaks unless it’s really full (easy to do when one bleeds as heavily as I do - I have to empty the lot out every 3-4 hours the first few days). So I’d say check every so often until you get a feel for how often you need to empty it.

**Marlitharn ** – if I’d been drinking anything when I read that, I would’ve christened my monitor.

Most people have no problem re-using their toothbrushes either, and your mouth has much more bacteria than a vagina!

Either, wipe with tp or baby wipes or bring a bottle of water into the stall with you. For me, emptyng every 12 hours is plenty, so at home is enough.

Just to note, that unlike tampons, the blood isn’t in contact with your mucous membranes, so they’re lower risk for TSS (no cases reported in menstrual cup users so far).
