Another awesome run in LFR, this time doing the second half of Heart of Fear. I got loot from all three bosses, including a belt and the tier chest and gloves. With the pants I got from Sha last week, I’m 3/5 of the tier set, needing one more drop for the 4-piece bonus. Also did Sha again and got PVP gloves from him.
And the cherry on my WoW sundae today was I hit exalted with Cloud Serpents, so I have that mount and one less set of dailies to worry about.
Joined a Terrace of Endless Spring LFR in progress, missed the first boss, but killed the final three. I think that means I win WoW. Or something. No loot for me on that run, but it was fun to see the content for the first time.
Trying to decide which of my alts to level next. I’ve sorta started the druid (boomkin/tree) on Pandaria, but he’s only about halfway to 86. Other candidates are my tankadin/retadin or hunter. I’ve done some reading on druids in MoP, and have a better handle on the rotation, so might get a little better with him, but he’s still ranged dps, as is the hunter, and I already have my main as a mage. Haven’t done much reading on paladins, but I have heard leveling is painfully slow in a protection spec.
Just FYI, Patch 5.1 is confirmed to be dropping tomorrow during maintenance. Happily, I just got my last honored rep (not counting Anglers since my main isn’t a fisherman) to revered yesterday (August Celestials), so I’ll be purchasing the tokens for all of those factions to double rep-gain when I log in after the maintenance. Then, I’ll probably try the new Horde dailies and scenario(s).
Also, as an aside, Burning Doggies, apparently, we were only 1 exalted rep short of United Nations for the guild, so when I hit exalted GL this morning, we ding’ed that as well. Dark Phoenix pet is now available to purchase from the guild vendor dude in Org.
Well I’ll be damned. Remember a few weeks ago when my rogue found the Krol Scimitar in a Vinecracked Lockbox? Tonight she opened another lockbox and found The Gloaming Blade inside
Hit Exalted with Cloud Serpent tonight! Yay! Picked up all 5 panther recipes and my azure cloud serpent. Now all I need to do is get my Jewelcrafting up to par.
Tried some proper RP the other night, another full RP guild invited us to do a spot of fishing. Was a lot of fun though I didn’t really know what I was doing most of the time, keen to try it again though.
So patch 5.1 tomorrow - the day I am ‘working from home’ and hoping to get some cheeky wow time in, sigh
Grats! I hit Exalted with Cloud Serpent yesterday afternoon as well, so I got my serpent.
That’s one less set of dailies that I need to do now. Still grinding away on Golden Lotus rep, and started with August Celestials and Shado Pan rep. <sigh>
The grind from Revered to Exalted will get easier today with the new patch (5.1) and the release of the Grand Commendations which effectively half the grind from revered to exalted, and half the entire grind for any alts.
Grr. My Jewelcrafting’s maxed, but I only just started the Cloud Serpent rep. Forgot to do my third day of dailies yesterday, too. I want those panthers.
At least Jewelcrafting is super easy to level once you get into MoP recipes. There’s so much Ghost Iron sitting around that the gems just fall into your lap. I had 40-60 of every uncommon gem after hitting 60 until I snapped, ground out some popular gems, vendored the uncommon cuts and put the Perfects on the AH.
The downside is JC isn’t really in demand right now except for the ilvl 450 rings and necklaces. Too many gems out there and not enough sockets just yet.
I’m glad this is in place, though it still doesn’t quite address some of the inequities between professions and gating them behind rep grinds. Case in point, the Blacksmithing epic i476 piece recipes are locked behind honored status with the Klaxxi. Even before this change occured, if you completed the entirety of Dread Wastes (with the exception of the two Paragons locked behind Revered status), you hit Honored rep and could purchase any of the BS recipes. However, Leatherworking and Tailoring are both locked behind level 90 daily only Golden Lotus, which took about 6-7 days before the commendations to hit Honored.
After commendations, it’ll still take 3-4 days to unlock, while, before I even hit 90 on my Feral Druid, with the Klaxxi commendation, I hit Honored Klaxxi. Finishing the zone (plus the fact that Klaxxi dailies open up before you hit 90) and one round of dailies pushed me over into Revered. And that’s not even getting into locking the enchanting patterns (and the lone new tailoring bag) behind Shado-Pan and August Celestials Revered/Exalted status. For a completionist, who already has pushed many of these reps to Revered/Exalted on my main, having to do that all over again (even if faster) is frustrating as heck, especially when I haven’t even set foot in any of the dungeons yet due to a combination of me being a crazy nutter completionist about my professions.
Sheesh! What a day! My main this expac is a panda monk named Grizzlemonk :). I’m playing him as a brewmaster (tank) cause that is my favorite role. Anyway, last night a guildy asked me to queue for terrace of endless spring to help speed up the wait. I said yes just for laughs. Ended up getting a new ring, chest, belt, a sigil of wisdom AND my sha touched weapon!!! I may not have won the powerball but the rng gods sure gave me a nod in WoW last night!
Had a 1% wipe on Elegon last night:( I don’t know if I could have done anymore to push him over. Maybe if I had used my defensive Cooldowns a bit more in the final phase, I would have been around for another cast or 2. Hopefully that dragon goes down tonight!
Well, I finally hit Exalted with Golden Lotus, and that opened up the final series of quests.

[li]The Mogu’s Message[/li][li]What Comes to Pass[/li][li]The Might of Three[/li][li]The Final Power[/li][/ul]
The Might of Three was lots of fun (Jade Serpent, White Tiger and Black Ox take turns endowing you with their power, allowing you to kill 100 Mogu much faster than you might otherwise).
The Final Power was…a real bastard of a quest. I died five times trying to complete it; Zhao-Jin’s wall of black lightning kept burning off my HP even as I tried jumping over it. Finally on my sixth try I did manage to complete it. An Orc warrior joined in while I was half-way thru the try. Don’t know how much he helped, but it sure didn’t hurt.
Now I can start grinding rep with other groups…already started with the August Celestials and the Shado-pan.
Last night, my human paladin, Eilyssana, took advantage of being able to enter raids solo and strolled into Serpentshrine Cavern to fish up The Lurker Below and finally earn her “Salty” title! She did not, however, survive the encounter with the Lurker.
I have a bit of a question about the entrance to Serpentshrine Cavern, though. I got to the entrance and initially couldn’t get in, and found myself wondering, “Wait, does the ‘don’t need to be in a raid group’ thing only apply to Old World/Vanilla raids or something?” The waterfall seemed to be blocking me. I was about to give up and started to hearth, but then I saw somebody else come running out of the entrance. The waterfall disappeared, and I was able to run right in. Is there something you need to do to “activate” the portal or something?
I thought it was just Vanilla raids, actually. Although I did have my own weird problems getting into Ruins last night. I “bumped” against the entrance several times (I died once from falling when I was trying to get down that hole to Boru).
