“Mopery” was my word-of-the-day from my email list the other day. I recall that in some movie, someone was arrested for mopery, but I can’t remember what it was! I feel like it might’ve been Revenge of the Nerds or of that ilk, but I can’t place it.
Help meeeeeeee.
Yep, it was indeed Revenge of the Nerds.
Police Officer: See that man over there? We arrested him for mopery
Booger: What’s mopery?
Police Officer: Mopery is exposing yourself to a blind person.
IIRC, mopery was something that the Three Stooges were always being accused of. If not them, then look through the works of Thomas Pynchon.
**pinkfreud **that’s it, thanks!
“Mopery” is used often in law school as a “generic crime”, to discuss enhancements and other criminal law issues in the abstract.
