More computer help! ATI TV Wonder VE

I’m trying to get an ATI TV Wonder VE card installed on my XP computer but it just doesn’t seem to want to work.

The installation hangs up after I’ve tried to run the TV portion of the program. At one point it caused my computer to abort (see other thread by me). I tried to contact support, but they simply directed to try things I already tried on from their technical support web site.

Has anyone successfully install this type of card in an XP machine? A google search of groups and such turns up lots of problems, but nothing I could find to point me where I should go from here.

if at all possible, I suggest you return that card… cause it sucks.

look for the new Asus tv tuner. Best picture quality in a normal TV tuner card… unless of course you want to find a HDTV tv tuner card.

as for your problem I have no idea.

I have three of those cards and two of them don’t work anymore. I gave up on them quite a while ago. (One of them I may try to fix again someday, probably not).

Be sure your tv is connected & on before turning on the computer & you use the latest Xp drivers for it.

Harmonix - I plan to return the card, but I have no idea with what to replace it. I tried to find an Asus card, but they don’t seem to be for sale anywhere that I can find except ebay. Where did you find yours?

handy - I’ve tried to use the latest drivers, but they don’t seem to be helping much. Then again, perhaps I’m not installing them correctly. The ATI website has 3 files which need to be downloaded, one of which is the drivers. The driver file appears to be a self-extracting file of some sort but I don’t know where it actually puts the drivers.
