Mornington Crescent question

Quimby, 37.3.1 - but that’s the optional section for play on computer networks which has long since been superseded by Palwick.

Damn, I was just joking. I should have figured that the Great Minds that have developed this game had thought of everything!

Palwick doesn’t hold in IP-based matches–the network addressing is unspecified outside the old X.25 JANET domain. Instead, you need the Revised Palwick which is IP-based and will be good until IPv6 becomes more widespread. The brass token is allowed by Revised Palwick.

North Acton on a zone boundary.

I haven’t looked it up, but I’m not convinced that “for Maritime Greenwich” is actually part of the station name. Anyway, whether it is or not, I’ll let it pass, because with fog lifted I can legally play twice in succession. This is not seen very often as it has a horrible tendency to lead to stirrups for the player in question, but I’m so far behind that I have to take that chance.

Notting Hill Gate followed by Paddington.

Better than Wargamer and Arsenal?
(Well, yes, it’s better, even I can admit that…)

Michelson’s Comprehensive Manual for Mornington Crescent (MCMMC, aka “Eleventy-eleventy-noughts”) recommends awarding a token ring in this type of situation.

MCMMC holds that following a double move a one-zone change is required. As I think Wargamer was merely referring to a past move and not actually making a play, I go with Maida Vale. Spur stations are out.

Acton Town,

although I fear what Bricker COULD do with this play, I feel I’m in a position where I’m forced to make the side-lateral shunt. Anyway, I will throw caution to the winds and see where it leads.

Paddington with a yellow flag.

**Leicester Square **

Let’s rotate the board - Wait, that’s Numberwang.

Green tokens on stirrups.

Well, I could have forced MC in 2, except for Sunspace’s Tower Gateway play earlier, which created a zone imbalance that cuts against me until… well, until it’s fixed.

So I have to respond to Leicester Square with the incredibly protective and otherwise lame Chalk Farm.

I’m trying to find a ruling that will let us play the Overground as well, but no such luck. One would think that if it’s on the Basic Tube map, it’s a legal play. But it looks like the rules haven’t caught up with the situation on the ground (which, considering the number of times Palwick is still references, isn’t surprising). So I’m forced to Mill Hill East.

Wood Green

There is now a real danger of getting stuck in a Piccadilly loop.

Me to the rescue: King’s Cross St. Pancras, blocking Piccadilly Circus via Green Park (eastbound traffic from Green Park stopped by rule).

Paddington, yellow flag burned. Fire alarms on.

I’m going to play Parson’s Green, and drop three red tokens to declare a false fire alarm. Traffic impeded only at Warick Ave, Edgware Road, and Bayswater.

Curses! But…

Aha! Impeded traffic at Edgware Road and Bayswater means I can play, redoubled, Paddington.

Preston Road

which allows me to declare stirrups for the next 5 District Line moves.

Goldhawk Road.

Barking

Stirrups on.

Southwark. Zone 1 to Zone 2 trips doubled.
