It’s a few hours before midnight, and already there is a continuous roar of fireworks in Shanghai. We’re talkin’ major ordinance. long strings of big firecrackers, bottle rockets, screamers, and some serious rockets that go up about 15 floors and explode. The air is smoky from all the gun powder, and this is really just the warm up. :eek:
Seriously, it’s a pyromaniacs dream come true. Sadly this year I’m not participating given the new twins peacefully sleeping through it so far. My favorite is the box of 12 rockets about a foot high. Light the fuse, get back, and let them boom up and explode in different colors at 10 second intervals.
Already had the feast of about 20 dishes. ate the lucky food. Drank an obscene amout of Tsingtao beer, and now waiting on Midnight when a loud roar from all the fireworks will overwhelm this city of 15 million people.
