Mosaic Help, Please?

Any amateur or professional mosaicists in the house?

I’m making a mosaic, and one of the aspects of it is a jazz player at his trumpet. I’m having a hard time figuring out what material to use for the trumpet. I have some stainless steel, but it’s nigh impossible to cut. And, it would look weird, as the rest of the tiles are about a quarter of an inch thick, and the steel is probably 1/16th inch thick.

Mrs. HeyHomie suggests smashing up a mirror, but I think that would look weird.

Any ideas?

I think you can get very thin pieces of brass at craft stores, a good set of wire clippers should cut through it easily, and it’ll look like a real sax. For the thickness difference, it depends on what your end use is, but you could get thin pieces of balsa wood or something and make a sub layer, and then glue the metal onto that.

Or, you could get some yellowish stained glass. The Pearl’s near me sells 12"x12" pieces of stained glass in various colors for around $6.

What about something like this:
