The bad thing about sportscaster George Michael is that with most of our local TV stations coming from a market outside the one I live in, we get The George Michael Sports Machine on more than one channel usually, although it seems to bounce from station to stationeach year, sometimes within the same year.
When I lived in Arlington, VA in 1996, I wanted to make a drinking game out of his NBA/Wahsington Bullets (they were about to change the name at the time) roundtable show. All you had to do was take a drink everytime he asked whether or not Juwan Howard was going to leave the team. If Howard was on the show that week, which he was most of the time, you had to down the whole drink everytime he asked a question, “Juwan, are you going to leave Washington?” or "Juwan, are you going to play for the Bullets next season? or “Juwan, there’s talk you’re unhappy in Washington, are you going to sign with another NBA when your contract ends?”
I realize it was a big deal since he was the best player, some might say the only good player on the team at the time, but why would he break the news on this pant load’s late Sunday night show instead of at a press conference or in a bigger forum?
That stupid guy in the H.H. Gregg commercials. If you don’t get it in your location, you don’t know what you’re missing.
And then there’s Connie Chung (though she’s mercifully off the air now).
Tom Brokaw seems totally in love with his imagined self-importance. However, this guy can’t even speak clearly.
I think Jane Pauley is equally guilty of being somewhat pompous.
Nobody watches (or will admit to watching) WWE Raw? Jerry “The King” Lawler is pretty terrible! Washed-up, lecherous, loud, rude, obnoxious, completely useless as color commentator. I think only Gilbert Gottfried and Carrot Top may be worse than Lawler.
Jim Ross is a hundred times worse.
I cheered the ending segment on RAW this past Monday.
