Most attractive actresses on TV Shows?

Having just finished bingeing on Big Little Lies over the weekend, I would say that Nicole Kidman deserves a mention.

Well, if we’re going British then there’s Andrea Lowe from DCI Banks. Emilia Fox from a bunch of things. And I’d better stop, for now.

Latter-season Valerie Bertinelli from One Day At A Time. The closest to perfection I have ever seen.

Terrible show, though. Bonnie Franklin’s portrayal of Ms. Romano is one of the most over-the-top acting performances of all time. I can just hear her saying to herself before taping episodes:…“Acting!!!”

Stefanie Powers as Jennifer Hart on Hart to Hart
Pamela Sue Martin as Fallon Carrington-Colby on Dynasty

Another vote for Donna Mills.

Italia Ricci, aka “Emily” on Designated Survivor. My God, that woman is freakin’ gorgeous! I look into those dark eyes and I just melt. :o

Caroline Catz, aka “Louisa” on Doc Martin. Same basic type as Italia Ricci, but British. The accent alone is enough to drive me wild! :o

Hell, let’s throw in Shirley Jones on The Partridge Family. When I was a teenager, I was so fixated on Susan Dey (there was a girl in my homeroom who was a dead ringer for her) I utterly failed to notice Shirley. Watching reruns the last few months, I can’t believe how incredibly **hot **she was!

In one episode, both Shirley and Susan were modeling hot pants. When that one was over, I was so weak I could barely get out of my chair! :o

How could I have forgotten Barbara Eden from I Dream of Jeannie!? Came across an old episode the other day (first in the series, as a matter of fact), and DAYUM!! She’s right up there with Mary Tyler Moore in my opinion, and that’s about as high as it gets. Sheesh!

Has anybody mentioned Carol Cleveland (of Monty Python fame) yet? She’ll always be “Deirdre” to me! :o

I just discovered 8outof 10 cats does countdown. Rachel Riley, o my God…

Watching a couple old tv shows on MeTV Tina Cole of King Family Singers/King Cousins and Katie on “My Three Sons” was very attractive (and isn’t too shabby now). Came across a couple references in tv show reunions and Barry Livingston’s book “The Importance of Being Ernie” that when Katie married Rob (Don Grady), the CBS censors wanted them to have separate beds. Grady fought them, saying it was 1967 and the whole world was changing. “Bewitched had a single bed” he argued. CBS agreed to have a huge single bed but only one of them could be in it at any time and a scene must never end with them facing each other. The morals of the country were saved, although they were able to procreate the triplets.

But it’s a lot smaller list if you name not-so-attractive women on tv

Patricia McPherson from Knight Rider and Madchen Amick from Twin Peaks.

These two women (who must have been about the same vintage) should have done a series together where they played sisters. They even should have kept the same male co-stars!

Set mostly on the Dick Van Dyke Show set, “Laura” and “Emma” could have had the most intense sibling rivalry, with “Laura" showing advantage in most of the domestic challenges (i.e.: cooking, dancing, PTA president), and “Emma" showing advantage in most of the ass kicking situations (i.e.: beating-up men, shooting corks out of champagne bottles, fencing). Mildly jealous of each other, but fiercely competitive . . . their male co-stars exacerbate the situation by being highly jealous of each other- but only mildly competitive.

“Rob” holds a secret torch for “Emma” which he goes to great lengths to hide; “Mr. Steed” is openly and blatantly attracted to “Laura”, whom he routinely tries to charm (and perhaps seduce). Since “Emma” is staying with her sister (and family), “Mr. Steed” has ample opportunity to drop by and pick-up “Emma” when the two of them are needed for their mysterious adventures. “Mr. Steed” is also invited to the frequent dinner parties “Rob” and “Laura” throw, and he always brings an elaborate and expensive ‘hostess’ gift along with his ever present champagne bottle contribution to the celebration. Never does he see “Laura” when he does not remind her that she is a beautiful and amazing woman who could have “any man in any room” (meaning himself obviously). It is tolerated because both “Rob” and “Laura” know he forgets about her as soon as he leaves the house and doesn’t think about her again she is present (very non competitive with “Rob”).

“Laura” and “Rob’s” son- - let’s call him “Richie”, has quite the crush on his “Aunt Emma” which is ongoing and persistent (for laughs), but only a ‘B’ or ‘C’ story line when needed- most episodes it need not be mentioned (it can be kept alive by a simple lingering before leaving the room). This makes perfect sense because let’s face it- if you are a young boy and Diana Riggs is walking around your house in black leather cat suits, and presumably on hot Summer nights- a short baby doll nighty, well . . . certain feelings are going come up. (He’ll be in his bunk.)

The heart of the show, is that occasionally “Laura” can kick some serious ass (perhaps in a Mama Bear situation), and “Emma” has the capacity to be quite a good homemaker, baking cakes and cleaning and caring for her sister’s family. Her dead husband, “Mr. Peel” died in service to the crown several years ago before they could start a family of their own so she cherishes the opportunity to live in a loving nuclear family, just as “Laura” loves some of the strange and exciting adventures that she finds herself in whenever she leaves the house with her sister. Who could have guessed New Rochelle had so much international intrigue and mystery!

Julie Bowen is quite attractive, a favorite of mine, and easily the best looking woman on her show (which must piss off her co-stars – some half her age and some known sex symbols). She is one of the few women who has consistently gotten better looking as she aged. She is three and a half (3-1/2) times better looking today than she was in HAPPY GILMORE. Perhaps she has peeked and will start to age (if the painting in her attic is destroyed) but she will have to fall a great deal for me to think of her as anything other than beautiful.

That being said, Bridget Moynahan as Erin Reagan is the most ideally beautiful woman in the world as far as I can tell. She also seems to be getting better with age. (That is a face I’d like to wake-up to everyday for…well, forever.)

About five years ago, there were a bunch of very attractive brunettes who all seemed (to me) to hit at the same time. They are entirely interchangeable to me, very little in the way of individuality or character that I could see- but all very attractive. (The women from BLACKLIST and AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. are the most obvious, but it seems like there are a dozen or more of them.) I find the same thing when I drive passed ASU; I see fifty to a hundred attractive brunettes with mirrored sunglasses and ponytails and they all look exactly alike to me (in a head shot- some are five foot even, up to six foot two or so- but as a bust on a mantle I couldn’t tell them apart)

Strongest disagreement on that, and I actually find Julie Bowen attractive.

My most recent pick would be Jenna Coleman on Doctor Who. She’s got that girl next door look that I’ve always liked.

Vintage tv, Jaclyn Smith from Charlie’s Angels. I always preferred brunettes. Jaclyn had this elegant and classy vibe.

Jessica Brown Findlay, Downtown Abbey

Rose Leslie and Emilia Clarke, Game of Thrones

Le sigh…

I was just watching an episode of ***Mr Ed ***on YouTube. I’d forgotten how hot Connie “Carol” Hines was! At least as good as Mary Ann in a French maid’s outfit on Gilligan’s Island. :o
