Most bodacious babe in a Final Fantasy game?

Probably some spoilers in here. Inspired by this thread.

From previous threads around here, I’ve seen that we all appreciate the women of the Final Fantasy series. So I thought we should take a vote, and decide once and for all* who wins the award for being the most bodacious. What exactly constitutes bodaciousness in this context? Well…you’ll know what it is, as you’ve seen it.

Just to keep things simple, I’m going to restrict the choices to party members. After all, no one can remember all the women in any FF ever. But if you want to vote for someone else, be my guest.

I’m also going to leave out the female children. Even if you’ve got a thing for a videogame character, you can’t be a perv.

So here we go. I’ve broken the nominees down by game.[ul][li] FF4: Here we have just two, Rosa and Rydia. They’re both lovely ladies, if I do say so myself.[/li][li] FF5: Again, there are only two, Lenna and Faris. And again, they’re both most excellent.[/li][li] FF6: Two seems to be a pretty popular number. We’ve got Terra and Celes here, and they’re both serious contenders for the title.[/li][li] FF7: Now we’re talking…this game features three bodacious babes, Aeris, Tifa, and Yuffie.[/li][li] FF8: Four this time. There’s Quistis, there’s Rinoa, there’s Selphie, and there’s Edea. So many to choose from…[/li][li] FF9: Three again. We have Garnet, Freya, and Beatrix. I never actually played this game, but I have no doubt that they’re all contenders.[/li][li] FFX: And once more there are three. Rikku, Lulu, and Yuna will probably all prove to be heavyweights in this competition.[/ul]So there are the choices I compiled. Now I’ve gotta pick one, don’t I?[/li]
Hmm…this is tough. As much as I like Rydia and Celes, I’m gonna have to go with Lulu on this one. Not only is she hot, but she can dispose of nasty enemies with a wave of her hands. And she’s got that whole dark/mysterious thing going on.

So howsabout it, guys? What say you?

*Or at least until the next game comes out.

Tsk, tsk. Why only women on the list? Final Fantasy has some of the most gorgeous guys in any series, too…

I nominate Cloud for good looks and personality. Second place for Squall – he’s more traditionally good-looking, but too two-dimensional. Vincent’s gothy mystique wins him third place – even if he is undead.

No one else is worth mentioning. I still haven’t played FF10, but Tidus looks like a surfer. Ditto for Zell. Irvine looks like a pimp. Barret looks like Mr. T. And as for FFIX, Zidane looks like he’s 8 years old, though he’s supposed to be at least twice that. Amarant’s proportions aren’t even human – his hair is ten times wider than his head, which smaller than his neck.

I go with Cekles, but Rikku is a very, very close second. And everyone else comes just a hair in third.

Now, being a guy, maybe I just can’t get this, but…

Cloud, then Squall as your two picks?

Cloud annoyed the piss out of me, and Squall barely came behind.

I did like Vince, but where Edgar? Cecil? Zidane? Auron?

Men:

Wakka = Sexiest voice EVER!!

Zell = He was way too well drawn.

Barret (pre hand) = “. . . sweeter the juice”
Women:

Celes = Had that whole innocence going on.

Dagger (after hair cut) = a babe.

Shiva on 7, 8, 10= <homer simpson drool>

Uh, I’ve never played Final Fantasy but I saw the movie.

How come none of you have named Aki Ross? Was she never in any of the games, or are all the other picks above demonstrably hotter?

Lulu (FFX) wins everything hands down for me, I love her to death.

Otherwise, Celes. Yum!

In that case, erislover, what the heck did the movie have to do with the game? Is any of that “spirits within” Gaea-theory stuff in the game?

The only connection between the movie and the games is that they’re both titled “Final Fantasy”. The games themselves are completely unrelated in story; they’re just a similar format (RPG’s with a simple style of combat).

I thought we were going mostly for good looks, and I liked the bishounen.

Cloud was supposed to annoy you, until you realized why he was the way he was, halfway through the game. Squall is a little less-developed, more cliched. But very, very physically attractive.

Edgar is too square-jawed, stereotypically-handsome-but-not-really. He’s the kind of guy straight men think is good looking, and no one else does.

Cecil is too pixellated to tell what he looks like.

As I said in my post, Zidane looks like he’s prepubescent, although he’s much older. In Yoshitaka amano’s original sketch – in which he looks his age – he is gorgeous, but that’s not how he looks in the game (you can find that original sketch on the back of the little instruction booklet that came with the game).

I haven’t played FFX – it’s the only one in the series besides Tactics I haven’t seen – and I’m guessing Auron’s from that, since I don’t recognize the name.

Well, there were similar themes. Lifestream stuff. And now that I’ve played FFIX, the whole incompatible life-energies from different worlds reminded me a bit of things in that game.

Fiver, Aki doesn’t hold a candle even to the FF game girls that didn’t make my top three.

Terra and Celes are certainly babes, and I can see where any of the ladies from FFX would appeal to some, but my picks all come from 8 and 9. Here’s a countdown.

#3) Selphie–Unreasonably, impossibly cute. Tanglefooted-puppy, all-eyes-and-ears-kitten cute. I don’t think I’d date her, but I’d try to get her to chase a laser pointer.

#2) Rinoa–The best-looking FF babe, IMHO, but aside from the whole “evil sorceress” thing, not very interesting. Pinup material, but not much else.

#1) Dagger(Garnet)–Most all-around appealing babe. She’s got more character than Rinoa, and is nearly as good-looking. Brains, looks, and attitude combine to give Dagger (post-haircut) the top spot.

I have to go with Tifa. Gotta love the breasts in the ending movie. Plus she can kick some major ass with her 7-hit limit break combo. Actually, thinking back, she’s the only female I can remember who isn’t a mage/thief. I guess I’m just attracted to kick-butt martial arts women.

Rikku she is blonde too… add Yuffie and Selphie to that the jailbait tripplefeature.

But the #1 blonde is General “I am a general, not an opera flozzy” Celes.
