What’s the most common pop-up ad you’ve ever seen?
For me by far it is The Amazing X-Cam I think they have an X-Cam 2 out right now actually.
I can only imagine how many times I’ve seen it. Millions, maybe.

X-Cam is probably the one I saw the most of. Lots of travel services as well. I no longer allow pop-ups to appear on my computer.
If I ever see an X-Cam I will personally break it apart and grind each part into a fine dust and then urinate on the resulting pile of dust. I hate those pop-ups so much. Who knows how much of my life has been wasted clicking out of those ads and what wonderful things I could have been doing instead?
And is it just me or are those cameras not marketed for “security” reasons but rather toward men who want to spy on hot chicks?
Sort of a tossup between X-Cams of various sorts, travel stuff. and the------------University of Phoenix. It seems I’m supposed to fly to the nearest U of P and study wireless camera technology, or something.
Goddamned Orbitz! I swear I wouldn’t book a trip to the fucking bathroom with Orbitz in retaliation for all the times that they’ve hassled me with one of their pop-ups!
Is it ironic for me, a telemarketer, to bitch about pop-ups? Yes, indeed, it is. But there IS a difference – at least I never made anyone’s computer lock up when I made a call. Goddamned Orbitz!
How about “you are the 1,000,000th visitor to this website, to claim your prize, click here!”
I do like those stupid little games that Orbitz has, though–I’m developing a pretty good slapshot…
“You have 1 NEW MESSAGE waiting for you!”
Thing is, that one regularly fools my father despite my constant explanation of it.
Funny.
I see WAY too many pop-ups from Classmates.com. No, thank you, I really DON’T want to find any of my high school classmates. I had my fill of them then.
Yep, I’ve also seen all of the popups mentioned so far. Very annoying. And yet I’m still hesitant to get anti-popup software.
Lately I’ve been bombarded with that damn Picasa ad. I swear if I see it one more time I’m going to scream!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!
I thought of the X-Cams when I opened this. The popups promoting the anti-popup software are showing up a lot lately, too.
X-Cam , Classmates, and Expedia.
I also often get a pop up for something called “Gator”, but it is more of a Java prompt than a regular pop up.
Classmates by far. I actually went and looked up my high school. Apparently, Ja Rule was a member of my graduating class.
I seldom see the X-Cam ads. Mostly, it’s Classmates.com, University of Phoenix, Orbitz, Ameriquest, and CheapTickets.com. Depending on the site, I can usually guess which one I’ll get.
The most annoying one of all, IMO, is the about.com ads. Full screen popups suck.
Hmm. Weird. I keep getting “World’s Largest Casino”.
That ‘15 millionth visitor to my website’ one quite a lot recently. X-cam as well, and Casino ones like GuanoLad. I don’t remember seeing a ‘Classmates’ one though.
Pop-up Ads?? Didn’t they die completely right after I intalled some pop-up blocking software, or is that just me?
Orbitz is the current leader in my cyber realm. Follwed closely by x10 and classmates. When pop-up killer’s not activated. KA-POW!!!
