I don’t see why illegal immigration is such a big deal. I have a four point plan to solve the problem.
- Give them all guns because guns are so dangerous that people who own them always end up shooting themselves.
- If they don’t shoot themselves, encourage them to choose to be gay and marry other gay people so they don’t get pregnant.
- Set up government run hospitals to give mandatory abortions to any of them who do get pregnant.
- And if we still have too many illegal immigrants, send them to Israel. They can help the Zionists conquer the rest of the Middle East so we can grab as much oil as possible before it runs out in ten years.

Re “most controversial” IIRC there was a thread from several years ago where a self admitted (claimed to be non-practicing) pedophile/ephebophile started a thread along the lines of (forget the actual name) “ask the non-practicing pedophile”. As I recall he wasn’t particularly aggressive or defensive about his “preference”, he simply presented it as an urge he had to control.
The thread trundled along about like you would expect when one of the main administrators, with access to all board registration data, played detective took confidential data from his SDMB board registration info, and using this found and posted his IRL name and address. The admin might also have reported him to the authorities, but I forget. The defense she had for doing this was that she was informed he had, at some point in the past, exchanged private message with one of the younger board teenaged board members at some point, and better safe than sorry.
All hell broke loose. Massive angry threads ensued between people upset at the violation of privacy vs people upset at the people being upset about the violation of privacy when there was a pervert on the lose. Cecil finally had to wade in, crack heads, and all the threads were deleted.
