Re “most controversial” IIRC there was a thread from several years ago where a self admitted (claimed to be non-practicing) pedophile/ephebophile started a thread along the lines of (forget the actual name) “ask the non-practicing pedophile”. As I recall he wasn’t particularly aggressive or defensive about his “preference”, he simply presented it as an urge he had to control.

The thread trundled along about like you would expect when one of the main administrators, with access to all board registration data, played detective took confidential data from his SDMB board registration info, and using this found and posted his IRL name and address. The admin might also have reported him to the authorities, but I forget. The defense she had for doing this was that she was informed he had, at some point in the past, exchanged private message with one of the younger board teenaged board members at some point, and better safe than sorry.

All hell broke loose. Massive angry threads ensued between people upset at the violation of privacy vs people upset at the people being upset about the violation of privacy when there was a pervert on the lose. Cecil finally had to wade in, crack heads, and all the threads were deleted.

The OP simply asked for the most controversial possible thread. I gave a real example of such a thread that existed in the past. My response was hardly a “hijack” and was completely on point.

Okay, based on the submissions so far, we need egregious grammatical errors, as well as fine points of nitpicking detail, coupled with bold socio-political assertions that are both contentious and half-debatable. Questionable, but again, arguable historical accuracy may be useful as well, and a value judgement thrown in would help.

King Arthur - assuming he was real, royal, 11th century, and of course, Welsh, was his relationship with Lancelot secretly or not so secretly gay? Also, was Arthur a racist in relation to the Saxons? and if Morgana Le Fay had had an abortion, how would things have worked out?

The medical system is scamming us all. If people really had all those organs sloshing around inside their bodies, you could not stand on your head. All the organs would just ooze down your neck. They have all agreed to keep this scam going by having TV shows and doctor manuals showing these things.
