Most Despised Celebrity Who Still Has A Career?

With that in mind, I still nominate Yoko Ono.

And not because “she broke up The Beatles.” She didn’t.

Hang on to your hat dude, VH1 just gave her her own show.

I can’t even despise people who I personally know, let alone passing judgement on strangers whose image I recognize.

Doesn’t the honor by default have to go to an athlete? Only their talent is objective enough for someone to divorce their personal character from their abilities. Actors and musicians rely on their personal charisma and character in furthering their careers far more than athletes need to.

It’s okay. You know all those times when you only saw one set of footprints? That’s when I was despising people for you.

I’ve rewarded myself by never seeing a Woody Allen film “Ick” doesn’t being to cover it. He is an absolute psychopath.

Does Mel Gibson still have a career? I thought they took him back to Australia and booked him into the asylum room next to his Father’s?

Likewise Michael Vick; is he playing again?

Mike Tyson was on HIMYM just last night. And they let him hold a baby! His voice always throws me.

ETA: Agree on Woody Allen. But I don’t think he’s as widely despised as he deserves to be.

Yeah RW is considered a “hack”. David Brenner is the biggest source for this. However, if you know ANYthing about stand-up, it’s all in the delivery. RW and DB could tell the exact same joke, line for line, and it would be a completely different gag. Their styles are just that different. And of course, really, there are no original jokes.

So, it’s a mostly baseless canard, spread around the internet mainly as RW is so hugely successful.
I know a dude that did exactly one half-hour at a open mike nite, and he still hates RW for being a “hack”.

A psychopath? Really?

Yes. I’ve read extensively about this guy, and he has no feelings but his own. He doesn’t understand anyone else seeing his actions as negative, and will try forever to get them to see things his way.

Tamerlane mentioned Jane Fonda in passing but I think she qualifies fot her own **full **mention. Widely despised? Maybe not… but those that hate her really, really hate her.

Yeah. Those of us who know enough to hate her properly are getting Olde. I’m not sure she qualifies as still having a career though; she’s a good deal Olde-er than I am, after all.

Mel Gibson is an American citizen by birth.

Vick’s played four full seasons since getting out of prison, and just signed a one-year contract restructuring that could pay him up to $10M next season.

Yes, he just made a movie with Jodie Foster and has 2 more in the works.

Yes, he’s the starting QB for the Philadelphia Eagles, has been for a few years, and just received a very nice contract extension.

Blech. I was still most shocked by Chris Brown’s career survival, but Mel Gibson is right up there. I never expected that either of them would get “A” list work again.

None of the above.

No mention of Ted Nugent?

Glad to see my nominee is accounted for.

I predicted that this thread would quickly become meaningless as it devolved into lists of celebs who are either on the poster’s personal dislike list or who are anything less than universally loved.

I am not seeing anything so far that disproves this prediction.
