Most frequent TV movie in your area?

I’ve read in dated trivia books that the most popular TV movies are the Elvis ones and golden oldies like Casablanca, Citizen Kane and/or Gone With The Wind. This might have been true for a certain time and place, but these movies really aren’t shown that frequently in today’s Canada. Was wondering, in your area, what movie deserves this title?

Here, the most frequently shown movie seems to be either: The Shawshank Redemption (good) or Grease (get the gun!!)

Unscientifically, of course.

At Christmas time the same channel shows It’s A Wonderful Life about 6 times. Then the other two local channels show that damn movie about the red rider BB gun several times each. Other than that, local tv dosen’t have too many tv movies.

As for cable movies, I would agree that The Shawshank Redemption is wat too overshown here in the US too.

The Shawshank Redemption has been on, like once, ever, in Australia…

On the other hand, you can look forward to a helping of Sergeant Bilko every three weeks, Bird on a Wire every month, and A “Back to the Future 2 + 3 Weekend” (2 on Friday, 3 on Saturday) about 4 times a year. I’ve seen 2 and 3 perhaps 15 times each. The first one? Twice.

On cable right now, all four Star Wars movies are on about 5 times a day, leaving about 4 hours for other things. The worst part is that they’re on showtime. OK, it’s the special edition, but Star Wars either way is hardly deserving of Showtime… In that it’s old, not that it’s crap… Cos I mean, Showtime can’t really get any worse in quality…
