Most Liberals are Hateful and Nasty Individuals

Nope, I just can’t picture Obama wearing stolen bedsheets.

That assertion might carry a little weight if the conservatives did, in fact, *have *a different way to *actually *accomplish that goal. But, as long as the party line is “Fuck 'em”, then the assertion that they’re bad people remains grounded.

It goes deeper than just disagreeing on the solutions to our problems. Our mutual disgust stems from the fact that conservatives live in an alternate reality and we can’t agree on what the basic facts are. Bachmann represents government of the ignorant, by the ignorant, and for the ignorant. Vaccines cause retardation, creationism is as valid as evolution, global warming is a hoax, all we need to do is lower taxes to create jobs, Obamacare equals death panels and socialism, voter impersonation is a huge problem that must be addressed even if preventing ten fraudulent ballots prevents hundreds of thousands from voting, all Muslims are evil terrorists, there’s a war on Christmas, it goes on and on. Normally I don’t mind how stupid people are, but if your stupidity keeps the rest of us from moving forward, that’s a problem. I can’t say that Tea Partiers are all hateful people, but they tolerate if not embrace bigotry and they are profoundly ignorant. So yes, losing a prominent voice for ignorance and bigotry is good news for the nation and liberals are quite right to rejoice.

I’d like to think that somewhere out there is a rightie who was just as disgusted by the MOVE bombing as I, a leftie, was by Ruby Ridge and Waco.

And once again we’re comparing a politician a bunch of Republicans wanted to be president to a comedian.

Indeed; see link below.

Always thought of Bachmann more as a performance artist . . .

To be fair, not all conservatives and republicans deny facts and science. Some just don’t care what the facts are, and only care about what their gut tells them. To me, THAT’S the biggest problem with republicans. I’ve heard them say time and time again “you just have to go with what you believe!” and similar things. Colbert hammers this with his “truthiness” all the time, and he’s 100% spot on. It’s the fatal flaw of conservatives.

Let me ask this, who are the leading voices of the conservative movement these days? There are hateful people on both sides, but which side has mainstreamed their hateful people to the top of their org chart?

The Burnt Orange Report points out that Bachmann’s departure leaves the title “Craziest in Congress” up for grabs–and Texas has some of the front runners! (Sensitive Conservatives are advised to stop reading now.)

Except for the neocons, and they’re even worse with their thinking globally.

I’m TSS, and I’m a liberal. I’m happy Michelle Bachman is going away. Our society works on dissent and the other side putting their best foot forward. Michelle Bachman was not the best the other side could put forward in the 2012 primaries. She was among the worst. Newt Gingrich was a giant by comparison, and he was a poor foot forward too. Huntsman was their most qualified and really only qualified in my opinion, Romney second. But the clown posse kept out JEB Bush types by taking up all the bandwidth. By comparison to Bachman, Boehner and McConnell are highly qualified. Bachman was a trolling joke. Like Sarah Palin.

Sometimes the Republicans are going to win elections, and sometimes Democrats. Those on the losing side don’t want to see the country going into the shitter because some f’in joke candidate won the office at stake.

Can you Republicans please come up with some adults? Bachman isn’t one of them. We will try to do the same.

Ok, to summarize, from the *This Just In *Department;

Humans in general are often complete shits to each other and this is true regardless of religion, culture, ‘race’ or ideology.

Pretending that group X is worse than your group is delusional.

That’s a huge generalization, and pretty much entirely untrue. If you pick any two groups, I’d be willing to bet you’d be able to find some difference between them, depending on how you do the measurement. Just to pick a trivial example, I’m going to go ahead and make the bold claim that Doctors Without Borders is a better group of people than were the leadership of the Nazi party in 1940’s Germany.

Real differences can and do exist. Obviously, deciding what those differences are is a very subjective process and open to debate, but to just claim that everyone is equally bad is a lazy and useless point of view.

Whoosh.

That just says the Libby-libs are too chicken to lay it on the table. No, they wanna fight sneaky and underhanded, with subtlety. And make you think when you should feel. Mark my words, friends and neighbors - anyone who appeals to your logic and not your gut in times like these is not your friend. They’re tilting the playing field in favor of the edjamacated elites!

I wish that were true. Hayes’ Saturday/Sunday show was really extraordinary. Good (and even ideologically diverse) panels, complex issues, thoughtful discussion – sometimes heated, but always thoughtful. Kornacki hasn’t yet shown that he can do that. Hayes in the evening is just another talking head with six minute slots. One great show gone, replaced by two mediocre ones.

Okay, would you please identify the Democratic equivalents of Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman, and Ted Cruz, just to name a few. If you can do that, I might consider your point of view as valid.

Of course there are no Democratic equivalents to those people. Democrats don’t care enough about the things that matter to fight dirty. They don’t have enough morality to be willing to lie and bully in the name of the truth!

Well, except WRT dress sense.

See? It all depends on what criteria you use.
