Mostly Martha

Has anyone seen this movie ‘Mostly Martha’ yet? Billed as ‘Bridget Jones for the culinary set’.

Just wondering if it’s any good.

I saw it some time ago at one of those “sponsored previews”. I really enjoyed it. I didn’t read or see Bridget Jones so I’m not really of that “set”, I’m no foodie but there was plenty of food porn that I didn’t necessarily object to.

I saw it subtitled, which I would recommend. I thought the character of Martha was a little over the top, but the actress who played her did wonderfully, really a very original performance. The actor who played the italian chef was also very good.

A trifle, but a good movie.

Saw it a few months ago. I thought it was cute, not great but good. I can’t say I see a Bridget Jones comparison though.

Not really a spoiler, but just to be safe…

The story revolves around an independent, determined, and somewhat stubborn chef, who, through a tragic accident, winds up with custody of her 8-year-old niece. Things get worse when the restaurant hires an easy going, fun loving, Italian chef that is pretty much Martha’s opposite.

I don’t see much of a relationship between that and Bridget Jones, except they both are lighthearted films.
