Ayuh, much of New England is under a tornado watch, up until the past five years or so, tornadoes and tornado warnings were almost unheard of here in New England…
Hurricaine season’s started, tornado watches in New England, Dogs and Cats living together, Mass Hysteria!, wonder when we’ll get that earthquake/plague of locusts/zombie uprising we’re overdue for?
Less than five years ago. I think it’s been less than 3 since we had the one that had scientists up here for months trying to think of what else it might have been.
Did you get big thunderstorms this morning too? I got woken up by thunder at 5 & 7 and I generally sleep through storms, especially on the weekend.
My vote is for worrying about a werewolf uprising. Zombies are too dumb to organize.

Tornadoes are perfectly natural phenomena. Please don’t go around implying that global climate change has anything to do with it. Such misguided speculation interferes with the right wing propaganda machine, which is busy shifting blame away from BP in the gulf oil spill. All disinformation resources are currently needed in that effort.
How about you look into the number of tornadoes Maine has had historically.
Did I state anywhere in my OP that these atypical weather formations may be caused by GCC/GW?
I’ve lived in New England for forty years, all my life, and up until recently, we’ve almost never had tornado warnings, they usually don’t happen here.
It’s got to do somewhat with the dissipation of the El Nino Effect down south.

definitely strange weather recently…
Somebody just turned the sun off and poured buckets of water on our house.
Moments after my last post, the skies went dark, wind and window-rattling thunder, horizontal rain, and we lost power, I was writing a post on my MacBook when the power went out, so I went out for a drive to see if I could find the source, no luck
I’m posting this from my iPhone, will post the MacBook post when I get home, assuming the power is back on
Boy, MacTech, you get all the luck with the outages around here. Weren’t you one of the micro-neighborhoods without power for weeks in the last ice storm?

non-stop thunderclaps, high winds, torrential rain
KER-CRACCKKK!!! (massive thunderclap just now, shaking the windows)
Rain is going sideways now, it’s almost as dark out now as it is at around 8:30 PM
Just shut down my Powermac tower, shut off the UPS, this looks to be an intense storm (gotta love wireless internet and laptop computers though…)
…and the storm seems to be slacking down a bit, less rumbly, rain is still heavy but no longer wind-driven
And power just went out as of 2:49 PM
Emma, yep, we lost power for 5 days in the last ice storm, and 6 days in the '08 Ice Storm Of DOOM!
Wow, sounds like I missed some bad weather today by going south; it was pretty quiet on the NH/MA border. That’s okay, I’m sure the weather will turn foul again…if the zombie werewolves don’t get us first.
