So I have one of those mice (computer mice, thank you) that has a scroll wheel. It’s great for scrolling, or at least it was. Now, it seems that something in it has worn out, and whenever I so much as touch the darn thing, it scrolls wherever the heck it wants, whether it be down, up, or off the coast of Japan. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there any way I can fix it, short of getting a new mouse? I’d rather not get a new one, only to have this happen again.
Have you tried re-installing the mouse driver?
Oh, computer mice.
I was going to post a story about how my sister (when in high school) did an experiment where she raised mice in 2.5 gravities–they were in a cage on a centrifuge in the garage. The mice were fine but I got motion sickness trying to watch them.
So, never mind about that. Run your mouse through the dishwasher; that’ll fix it.
My mousewheel behaves a bit erratically every now and then too. A good vigorous scroll backwards and forwards for a few seconds usually solves it.
