Mouseover in Firefox

DooWahDiddy asked this question before, here, but it was never really answered. Why does the mouse-over preview tooltip show 30+ characters in IE, but only about 10 in Mozilla Firefox?
Is this forum- or browser-dependent?
Do other browsers do this?

I’m using FireFox and when I mouseover this thread I saw DooWahDiddy asked this question before, here, but it was never really answered. Wh…

I don’t know whats going on.

Here’s one explanation:

I presume this also pertains to the TITLE attribute of the TD tags with which it’s generated.

Oh hang on a minute, the TITLE tag that’s referring to is the one that is meant to be used.

Just ignore me.

It’s a Firefox issue, not a VBulletion one.

I think there might be some sort of extension out there for recognizing alt-tags like IE but the default does not.

This does not appear to be the case with Firefox 1.0. I get one line instead of six or seven.

I don’t see why it’s a big problem, though.

I guess I should have counted the number of characters…

In Firefox I only get one line, or the same thing VenusProbe posted. In IE I get 6 or 7 lines, like you said. It isn’t a “big deal”, I just wonder why the discrepancy and if there’s any way to change it.

This extension will allow you to see the full mouseover thread preview using Firefox:
