Mousing over a thread in Opera

It was discovered shortly after the update that under IE, one could hover his mouse over the thread title on the forum page and see the beginning of the OP in a little popup window. At the time, I said I couldn’t do it in Opera, and other corroborated this.

I don’t know if anyone else has mentioned this, but if you mouse just above or just below the thread title on the forum page while using Opera, you get the beginning of the OP.

Now, I can’t speak for anyone else, but this saves me a lot of time. If I can get the gist of a thread without having to open it (and I’m currently on dialup), the server doesn’t have to work so hard… right?

Anyway, just pointing out something I had just discovered…

Oddly enough, that works in IE too (6.0 under WinXP Pro). In fact, placing the cursor anywhere in the block containing the title shows the thread preview text. Seems the mouseover script is tied not to the <a> tag of the title link, but rather to the <td> tag of the title block.

Mosuing over the title block in Mozilla will bring up the first line.
