Strange Mouseover Behaviour

Just curious.

This is a recent occurrence. On most occasions when I float the mouse over a thread title the first few lines of the OP appear, immediately fade for an instant and then reappear and remain visible for a few seconds as normal. This doesn’t happen every time. Furthermore, some stickies don’t show anything from a mouseover at all.

Has anyone else experienced this novel behaviour?

Thank you.

I experience this, quite regularly, but only ever on Firefox. It’s something to do with having used the back button, and a link being highlighted or something.

Interesting.

For my sins, I use AOL.

Christ!

I know it has a poor reputation but I’ve never, ever had a problem with it.

I’ve noticed this, too. Not just on the SDMB but on another message board I go to.

It only started happening when I “upgraded” to IE7.

It’s still useless to me, it goes off so fast.
Is that in the browser or the script, how long it lasts?

So have I.

I think that’s the answer.

I get it as well with the upgrade to IE7. It doesn’t happen the first time I mouse over a title, only when a return to a title that had previously popped up.

Not sure about the immediate flicker, but if you slowly move the mouse around over the link the preview will stay on the screen. (It’s almost dirty, like you’re stroking/caressing the thread title.)

Also, older threads don’t have mouse-over preview. That’s the surest way to tell if somebody bumped a zombie thread. Several of the stickies are very old.

Happens frequently with Firefox, so I can’t blame IE for this one.
