Move over, Esprix--There's a new one-trick pony in town!

Fixed the equation for you, Fenris.

casdave, don’t sweat it - it’s just such an ongoing joke at this point, the moniker has lost all its meaning. But thank you for your concern.

Esprix

Per casdave’s remark, Esprix, I hope you know I was just teasing. I do not view you as a one-trick pony at all; I just saw the opportunity to use some “SDMB folklore” in the title! If you were for any reason offended, you have my most profuse apologies.

My question is: If Sea Sorbust bothers you so much … why do y’all keep answering him? You’re just giving him the attention he wants. My post go almost totally ignored on this board(BigGiantHead did once compliment me) and I am not nearly as jerky as the few threads of Sea’s I looked at. So just don’t answer him…

My god, that was beautiful!

I think many of us, myself included, tend to think that if they explain things clearly enough even complete morons will see the error of their ways. It’s the sort of people that this site attracts.

Or not.

It’s sort of the Board’s equivalent of “but think of the children”. If some kook makes a crackpot claim, we can’t just let it stand, in case some uninformed lurker takes our silence as agreement. We may never convince the kook of the error of his ways, but we will be fighting the spread of ignorance.

Ah yes; imagine this, if you will: Sea Sorbust is an oil well fire in the middle of a forest; a towering inferno of pure ignorance. Dopers are the firemen on the ground, armed only with shovels, who can’t hope to douse the blaze, but must still throw as much sand as possible on the fire to prevent ignorance from consuming the entire forest. What a romantic vision.

To be followed closely by the appearance of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Well, I have to say that I kinda like the guy.
Yeah, he’s kind of wacky, has a bit of a one-track mind, but he’s also fairly amusing, and doesn’t seem to take himself too seriously.

Over at his “Asteroid Defence”* thread, he said this:

They probably meet in their parents’ basements or in backyard treehouses.

*Is Sea Sorbust British?

Jesus, what a fucking nutjob.

Ok, I give up.

I scratched my head for a while, looked at his profile, I still cannot make the connection.

So why do you ask the question ?

If it’s merely because you have a particular image of Britons, rather than hard evidence, then you may need to review your values.

casdave,
Take it easy.

SS opened a thread about “Asteroid Defence”.
Americans spell the word “Defense”.

Nobody’s dissing the Brits.
