You know, I think I saw that when it first aired. I sort of remember a scene in which the couple is taken to a grocery store and taught how to shop and buy food correctly and prudently.
Another movie that has stuck in my mind all these years was an ABC feel-good Movie of the Week about a social worker who discovers that a severely retarded institutionalized adolescent isn’t retarded at all, despite displaying all of the characteristic speech patterns and body movements. It turned out that he had been placed in the institution as an infant, and modeled his behavior on everyone around him because he had no external referents. Anybody know the name of that one? I’m thinking it was around ’74 or ’75.
