This has been driving me mad all night, there is a movie I am thinking of, but I can only think of a few details and I hope someone will be able to give me the title. Sorry there is so little to work with, but it’s all I have and I just have to figure it out. I understand the challenge this may pose, but I will try to give as much as I remember.

I believe the movie was released within the last 5 years or so, though maybe a little before.

I think I saw it on telelvision, but can’t really think any station in particular. Perhaps IFC.

The movie seemed to be a psychological thriller of sorts. Sort of like “A Beautiful Mind” or “The Game” but I am positive it is not either of these.

The protagonist was a man, but I can’t remember his age. He was not young, and he wasn’t very old. I can barely remember a thing, but I think he may have even been one of the “bigger” leading male actors.
Plot: -
From what I can remember, the plot involves a man who works for a company or firm and he has come up with some revolutionary new formula or equation (I can’t remember). He ends up writing whatever it is in a book and keeps it away from his employer in order to later sell it to someone and make a big profit.

One scene I remember involves the main character in an upscale restaurant or country club type establishment, for lunch I believe, with one of his employers.

In another, I remember him getting a call on his phone and it was a friend of his. I think he discussed something about his new equation/formula and wanted to keep it secret.
(Sorry there isn’t much detail with these two, but it’s all I can remember)
- The main scene I remember invovles the leading character (male) in a public bathroom at, I think, a park. He is there with about 10 federal agents with eavesdropping equipment, who are instructing him, and putting wires on him, on meeting someone about this book. He leaves to meet the man and he eventually ends up with the book (I think he may have given it to the man, though I don’t know why, and the man in turn is giving it back) and he flips through the pages and they are all blank. He realizes he was screwed and goes back to the bathroom only to find no sign of the agents or equipment, just an empty bathroom.
Once again, I am sorry there is so little to work with. I also really hope this is a movie that someone has seen, and the can fill me in with the title. I also really hope it is an actually movie and not plot details floating around in my head of a yet to be done movie.
