Movie featuring a woman hiding at night in a pyramid?

I have a image stuck in my head from a movie shown on late night broadcast years ago.

A caucasian woman with short hair is sneaking around pyramids/desert fortress at night, she is then hiding from someone or something. It looks like a sandy desert, it is not a mummy monster movie(I think). Movie was in color and looked like it was from the late sixties to seventies.

She is at first outside the structure sneaking around and is then inside.

:confused:Anyone have a clue?

Could it perhaps be Death on the Nile, starring Peter Ustinov? It involved people sneaking around the Pyramids briefly.

Well, there’s a pyramid-sneaking scene in The Spy Who Loved Me, if the woman with short hair was Roger Moore.

Right movie, but the woman was Barbara Bach, and among those that were chasing her was Richard Kiel as “Jaws”.

Yes, and the role of Captain Whoosh was played by Peter Sellers.

I’m guessing this is probably the right answer, I don’t think I’d confuse Roger Moore for a chick with short hair:D

Thanks Beardpig!

On the odd chance that that’s not the right movie, one more that included a short-haired White person and pyramids is the movie Sphinx (1981), but it’s pretty far outside your time frame.

Death on the Nile had some people on the Great Sphinx during the day. As far as I can recall there was no night-time stalking on land, and certainly not near a pyramid.

The Spy Who Loved Me had scenes filmed at Karnak, with no pyramid in sight. Again, they were daytime shots.

I never saw Sphinx, so I can’t speak for it.

There are two earlier color movies that had caucasian women playing ancient Egyptian women sneaking around massive structures. Caesar and Cleopatra (1945!) was a British adaptation of Shaw’s play, with Claude Rains as Julius Caesar and Vivien Leigh, Scarlett O’Hara herself, as Cleopatra. You get to see her slinking around at night by a sphinx (not the great one), and later in the film you see her near monumental Egyptian arcitecture, like the Pharos lighthouse. No pyramids that i can recall, though.

the other is The Egyptian from 1954, starring a lot of people you’ve seen before, including very Caucsasian Jeam Simmons. I haven’t seen the whole thing, but a pyramid or at least monumental architecture seems probable.
There’s also Land of the Pharoahs from 1955, starring the almost literally immortal Joan Collins, who must be bathing in the blood of virgins these days to keep her appearance. This one has a good possibility of being your film, since there are lots of shots of self-closing booby-trapped tombs, as in the Brendan Fraser Mummy films, or in Indiana Jones. I’m pretty sure that at the climax Joan finds herself sealed inside one of these.

Mannequin? The opening scene was set in Egypt, starring a young Kim Catrall, dressed in Cleopatra-esque costume.

There’s an earlier scene at the pyramids.
