Movie Game IV (son of a son of a...)

The Arrival

I was arguing from analogy with Batman Returns. If it’s one actor as Bond per answer than I think the same rule should apply for the various actors who’ve played the big bat.

Maybe it’s time to rethink the rule on sequels. If we start carving them out one at a time, things will get complicated.

Maybe. It’s an interesting point though. Not so much for that example, since, uh, Keaton was in both of them.
And, Timecop

Maybe. I think the Bond franchise has just been around so long, with so many different characters, villians, whatever, that scarcely repeat, with the exception of Bond and his supporting cast. But it does make things more complicated. I never did look up what the original rule was, or whether I just inflicted it on you or there was any kind of vote or agreement.

[ :smack: oops… I thought that was the Clooney version. I’ll slink away quietly now. You guys who have a clue make the rules…

Oh yeah, Gloria Reuben

And, for my 300th post to this thread, I give you:

Nick of Time

Charles S. Dutton

Alien 3

Sigourney Weaver

The Village

1492: Conquest of Paradise

Guess I should have previewed.

Adrien Brody

Maybe have to back the truck up here.the sequel thing again.

The original Alien was played back in July, post 296.
I’m really not trying to be the wet blanket here, but it seems to keep happening.

The Jacket

Kris Kristofferson

I agree. Bond is pretty close to unique. OTOH, is there really a good reason not to use sequels? I mean we’re not exactly going for the kill in this thread anyway.

I stick by my original link to the discussion. It seems there was a tacit agreement, and so far the one exception has been honored. I’m not lobbying for a rule change. I’m just saying that if we’re going to start making more exceptions, the exceptions will quickly devour the rule, and we will all be left scratching our heads.
