Movie genres that haven't been spoofed?

Along with the others already mentioned, there’s also Blankman.

The Last Action Hero with, appropriately enough, Arnie as the action hero. It was bad, even discounting the deliberate badness put in for parody’s sake.

Lifetime movies definitely constitute a genre that MUST. BE. SPOOFED.
Although Lily Tomlin’s “Incredible Shrinking Woman” comes close.

I think I’ve got a few more.

Has there been a spoof of those serious “expose” movies that show a whistleblower/reporter taking on big business/government involved in a cover-up? I’m thinking China Syndrome, Silkwood, Erin Brokovich, The Insider, All The President’s Men, aspects of Three Days of the Condor… etc?

I do not recall any movie that spoofs the hijinks and hilarity that follow preparations for a big wedding. (“Father of the Bride” or “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”) Those movies tend to be farce, and farce is hard to spoof.

How can you spoof a genre movie that hinges on a gimmick – like all child actor cast (Bugsy Malone – gangster spoof) or all little people (Big Trouble In Little Town – western)?

Not a parody of pr0n movies - in fact, it started life as a pr0n movie before they got some cash injected for effects and decided to make a sex farce instead.

You’re in luck - someone just reseeded it on Suprnova a few days ago. 273MB, I think it is.

Has anybody ever spoofed parody movies?

Remembered it! It was Matinee, that underrated look at William Castle movies, that features 1950s Mad Scientist-portrayed Cornthwaite as a mad scientist in Mant!, a sympathetic sendup of 50s Monster Flicks.

There’s also:

Ape
Rugrats in Paris
Powerpuff Girls
Nutty Professor
(Eddie Murphy version)

and, oh, heck, go to the IMDB and just call up “Movie Connections” and “Spoofed in” on any Monster flick.

Ah, someone else who’s seen that movie! What were your reasons? Big Who fan?

I don’t know if Lisztomania was intended as a spoof of anything…I’m not really sure what it was intended as at all, other than being truly mindbending. But if we’re going to consider it a spoof, I’d count it under “biopics” rather than “period dramas”.

Is Eight Legged Freaks a parody? I haven’t seen it.

OK then, how about Life of Brian?

No, it’s just another one of those modern horror movies that thinks it’s clever.

My recommendation for Epic Parody- BORED OF THE RINGS, directed by…
Peter Jackson!

Ken Russell fan, actually! Crikey, what strange goings-on in that brain realised on film…for a while I was on a KR kick, trying to find on vid anything that was available…I just re-watched The Rainbow the other night, but that was part of a long Paul McGann film festival that started with Withnail and I, and ended with Paper Mask

Although I had a mad crush on Roger Daltrey (was gutted to learn that even when I was in high school, I was taller than he was…kinda put the mockers on things…terribly shallow of me, I know.) I like the Who all right, but my loyalty lies with the Kinks…(they’re all taller than I am…just about… )
