Yes, I said earlier Czech was both a culture and a nationality.

As a final piece of supporting evidence, I submit the Oxford dictionary definition of Czech:

  1. A native or inhabitant of the Czech Republic or (formerly) Czechoslovakia, or a person of Czech descent; 2. The West Slavic language spoken in the Czech Republic, closely related to Slovak.

So I really don’t think anyone has disproven the notion that the city of Bratislava was a Czech city in 1987. Definition #1 of Oxford appears to back me up on this so therefore I’d argue it meets the requirements of the category.

You maybe could have said it was a Czechoslovak, or Czechoslovakian city, but still not a Czech one. Would you say at the same time that Prague was a Slovak city?
