Any movie remakes you like/dislike?
Like: “Family Man” Moved faster than “It’s a Wonderful Life” no unnecessary build up.
Dislike: “The Distinguished Gentleman” Not a Murphy fan, original captured the essence better. I do like Jimmy Stewart in this role.
“The Time Machine”- You’d think the (great?) Grandson of H.G. Wells could pull off his masterpiece well, but unfortunately it fell short. The original movie, made in the 1960’s I believe, was pretty accurate to the book for as far as I can remember. Plus the Eloi were cuter (HG Wells described the Eloi as small, child-like peoples with pale skin and hair-the recent movie made them look POLYNESIAN)
I didn’t HATE the movie per se, I was just disappointed. But when you have a GOOD book-to-movie transition, then you re-make that, you are asking for trouble
