Movie Title Theme Thread #4

When I came up with this theme I had some doubts but it turned out to be fun. In about thirty minutes I had come up with thirty movies. This time there will be bonus points awarded if you come up with a couplet - meaning two movies that fit the theme and star the same person (I noticed two couplets on my list.)

Also, to make things super incredibly exciting, I have selected one movie from my list of thirty to be “The Secret Title.” If you say the secret title a chicken will come down and award you fifty clucks.

Here’s the theme: Movie titles containing the -ing form of a verb.

Here’s a couple of clues to get you started: “Heeeres Johnny!” and “You think I should cut my ear off and move to the south of France?” Oh, one more, one more…“Not unless *round * is funny.”

Now go…

Raising Arizona
The Shining
Killing Zoe
Saving Private Ryan
Looking for Mr. Goodbar
Sleeping With the Enemy
Swimming to Cambodia
Swimming With the Sharks
Dead Man Walking
The Running Man
Eating Raoul
Dying Young
The Killing Fields
Singing in the Rain
Breakin’
Breakin’ 2 Electric Boogaloo
Bowling for Columbine
Looking for America
Coming to America
The Crying Game

Regarding Henry

Working Girl
Losing It
Searching for Bobby Fisher
Flirting With Disaster
Keeping the Faith
(the two above both feature Ben Stiller)

Losing Isaiah
Racing the Sun
(the two above both feature Halle Berry

Tangent’s *Racing the Sun * reminded me of another movie and gave me a triplet with Nicolas Cage. I’ll just spoil the -ing words.Raising, Leaving, Racing

Ten bonus clucks for anyone who can name a couplet starring Peter Sellers.

Finding Nemo

Being There
The Incredible Lightness of Being
Much Ado About Nothing (in Shakespeare’s time, the final word was a verb)
Driving Miss Daisy

Breaking the Rules
Finding Forrester
Gleaming the Cube
Shooting Blanks
Blazing Saddles
Being John Malkovich
The Importance of Being Ernest
Being Human
She’s Having a Baby
Going My Way
Going In Style
Dancing In The Dark
Dirty Dancing (I and II)
Dancing at the Blue Iguana

Odd…the only one of these that I’ve actually seen is Blazing Saddles.

“Being There” and “Dr. Strangelove: or how I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb”.

Ding Ding Ding! RealityChuck gets the fifty clucks for saying the secret title: The Unbearable Lightness of Being

And Short Guy gets ten clucks for finding the sneaky Peter Sellers couplet.

Some of these may be repeats of earlier lists, but I’m working so I’m trying to be quick about this…
Walking and Talking
Floundering
The Fighting Temptations
Guarding Tess
Capturing the Friedmans
Chasing Amy
Saving Grace

Bibliophile’s *Guarding Tess * makes four with Cage. Now he’s raising, racing, leaving, and guarding.
