movie titles based on [active verb] + [character name]

I am young and am not a walking moviepedia quite yet. I try my hardest though.

I noticed some years ago that there was a trend towards movie titles in the style of, for example, “Finding Forrester” - active verb + character name, usually the main character but not always.

Other titles on top off my head:

Finding Nemo
Saving Private Ryan
Killing Mrs. Tingle
Being John Malkovich
Is this an old trend and I am just late? What other examples are there?

It was changed to Teaching Mrs. Tingle. Still qualifies, though!

Waiting for Guffman

The worst movie ever made: Boxing Helena.

Chasing Amy.

Regarding Henry

Run Lola, Run

Eating Raoul

Get Carter

Raising Helen (kate Hudson)

Remembering previous threads

Searching for Bobby Fisher
Deconstructing Harry
Kissing Jessica Stein

But the first one might not count, since Bobby Fisher isn’t actually a character.

Raising Arizona!

Raising Arizona

Get Shorty
Kill Bill
Not, however, Dead Man Walking

Darn it.
alright then, Driving Miss Daisy.

There is no character named “Amy” in Chasing Amy, though. A story is told ABOUT Amy that explains the central conceit, true, but by a strict reading of the OP, this doesn’t qualify.

Educating Rita

How about “Killing Threads Unnecessarily”?
Can’t you stand it if the rest of us havent seen your linked thread?

I can “stand” it just fine. It wasn’t even my thread. I was trying to be helpful, perhaps a little sarcastically funny. Sorry if it came out the wrong way.
