Movie/TV actors that you'll always see as a particular character

Of course, that’s a typo.

Jim Parsons will never be able to be anyone but Sheldon.

Nope. Macro in I, Claudius.

I watch all the other actors from that series (Brian Blessed, Patick Stewart, John Hurt, Derek Jacobi, George Baker, and so on) and I can never dissociate them from it either.

Patrick MacNee and Diana Rigg as John Steed and Emma Peel.

Patrick McGoohan as John Drake** and **“The Prisoner” (OF COURSE they’re one and the same man).

I dunno… I still always think of him as Chet, and his turn as Hudson in Aliens was just what Chet might have been like as a Marine.

Kate Mulgrew is Captain Janeway, even when she is an inmate in a women’s prison.

Jason Alexander

Alec Guinness is George Smiley, Judith Anderson is Mrs. Danvers and Ian Richardson is the only true Francis Urquhart.

Eh, for me Guinness will always be Obi-Wan. And the late Bob Hoskins will always be Eddie Valiant from Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

Also, Christopher Lloyd is Doctor Emmett Brown or Reverend Jim Ignatowski.

Yep. See Post 37

I always wondered how Mrs Columbo got into space. Kind of like Mrs. Slocombe in space, I guess…

Nigel Hawthorne will always be Sir Humphrey Appleby.

Everyone in Band of Brothers will be that guy from Band of Brothers now and forever (except for a couple of the cameos, Simon Pegg, Jimmy Fallon). It also doesn’t include David Schwimmer even though he was great in it. He will always be Ross. But it does include Donnie Wahlberg even though he was famous before the show. He will always be Carwood Lipton.

When he’s speaking British. But to Americans he is forever Dr. Gregory House.

Angela Lansbury will always be Jessica Fletcher

That’s probably true for most of the main characters, but you can’t tell me that Ron Livingston is stuck in your head as Lewis Nixon rather than Peter Gibbons from Office Space.

Wil Wheaton could become an A-list actor and win 12 Oscars. But he will never escape Wesley Crusher.

Likewise Gary Cole as Bill Lumbergh from that same wonderful movie!

To me, Sean Bean is always Boromir.

Katey Segal is Peggy Bundy. I happened to watch some 8 Simple Rules reruns a few months ago, a series I had never seen before, and kept being bothered by how familiar the mother seemed. Finally it kicked in. That’s Katey Segal! In my head I had trouble making the association because in 8 simple rules she plays a GOOD mom.

Then you should watch him as Hunter Thompson in “Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas” and “The Rum Diaries”. That’ll cure you of this.
