Movies BEGGING to be remade

And people who read books may not go to a Kevin Costner movie.

Jeez, KC was good in …

Somebody help me out here?

A Perfect World

I mean he would be good, in a perfect world :stuck_out_tongue:

Bull Durham?

“Star Trek: Generations” and this time have it a buddy-buddy Kirk and Picard as many people hoped it would be.

And have Avery Brooks play Kirk.

A Boy and His Dog

I just watched it. I love it. Could be remade with some better FX.
ROBOCOP

Oh I would be down for A Clockwork Orange if they use the last chapter of the book.

Oh and Costner was good in A Perfect World, Field of Dreams, Silverado, and No Way Out.

It was damn good … for about 2 seasons. As a film? *Not so much. *

Silverado, The Untouchables. Open Range wasn’t bad.

I second this - Even with the dated effects, it was a very thought-provoking movie. And the ending , once I had managed to parse it, blew me away the first time I saw it…

The Penultimate Starfighter!

Oh come on!

The prequel to “The Last Starfighter” is “The FIRST Starfighter.”

An example of the problems inherent in remaking fun movies: how can you not have Robert Preston, in his best Harold Hill voice, booming out ***“WELLLLLLCOME to Rylos, my boy!” ***

I thought that you could do something better with a retro pulp 1930s sci fi film like “Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow”. After all, one of the best Star Trek: Voyager episodes was the take off of 1930s Flash Gordon/Buck Rogers “The Bride of Chaotica”.

Totally agree! I thought Sky Captain was a real wasted opportunity.

This is probably one of the dumbest things I have ever read.

Starship Troopers – They made a huge mistake by not including the powered armor. Also, they shouldn’t have cast Denise Richards and Neal Patrick Harris.

The Puppet Masters – The plot revolves around the fact that these aliens hide underneath your clothes. In the book, they gradually realize that the only absolute defense is nudity, so everyone on Earth is forced to give up their nudity taboos as a matter of survival. But the movie had no nudity at all. WTF? And the movie has a Hollywood happy ending where everything is back to normal but the book points out that we’ve been trying for centuries to get rid of rats and cockroaches without success so we just have to learn to live with the threat of brain slugs.

Total Recall – GREAT storyline, but why did they have to go and make it so damned violent? Sheesh, do you really need hundreds of gunshot victims in what’s essentially a cloak-and-dagger movie? Too much dagger, not enough cloak, I say. Also, it’s a total mistake to cast a 300lb weightlifter with an Austrian accent as a secret agent.

Coming this summer, Total Recall starring Colin Farrell.

To be fair, they didn’t know it was a casino planet. They were stopping there to refuel.
