I’m still hoping that we’ll see Pot Fest.
I seem to recall that Battlefield Earth was intended to have a sequel.
Of course, I read that on Wikipedia. I’m not willing to subject myself to the actual movie.
I thought a similar thing when I saw the Bruce Willis/Samuel Jackson movie “Unbreakable”. At the end of the movie the Bruce Willis character discovers his superpowers (not able to be harmed, sort of able to read minds) and the last scene looked like a setup to have him return as a crimefighter.
I think that’s a complete misreading of the movie. I quite like Unbreakable, but I can’t imagine the stories of Willis’ character going out and fighting crime on any sort of consistent basis. It just wouldn’t fit the mood established the first time.
And what might the surprise ending be? Can’t have a Shyamalan movie without a surprise ending.
I think this is where we shake hands.
Pokemon had a hot girl with fur and leather?
Dear Og, please, no. There were maybe three laughs in the entire first film (most notably the gag with the canteen and the lip balm). Any sequel would, IMHO, suck most prodigiously.
If Brad Bird would direct and was happy with the script, I’d go see an Incredibles sequel in a heartbeat, but I doubt it’ll ever happen.
There was a shortlived Casablanca TV series in 1983, with David Soul in the Bogart role… which is probably best forgotten: Casablanca (TV Series 1983) - IMDb
No, I think that was the porn version - Poke Me, Mon
Not that I want to see a *Three Amigos *sequel, but I think you underestimate the original - there were a plethora of laughs in there.
Ah. I was all about James myself. I’ll be in my bunk with the pikachu sheets.
That’s what I came in here to say. Every now and the Broken Lizard guys hint that they might do it, but I’m losing faith.
I’m still waiting to see the exploits of King Conan, but that’s another story…
I remember seeing it with some high school buddies, and we were all eager to laugh, and just… didn’t. YMMV.
That’s one of my favorite movies. What a cast. I’d love to see a sequel, but it really would have had to be done years ago.
Am I being whooshed? I think you’ve conflated the ending of Batman Begins with the ending of Dark Knight.
I’m still waiting for *Malcolm *parts I through IX.
The special features on the DVD showed that Shyamalan did plan to make Unbreakable sequels (a trilogy actually). Those will probably never happen now.
I think he means the Joker’s “Destined to fight each other forever” speech. Which I meant more of a speech about the general nature of Batman than as a set-up for a sequel.
Of course, there most definitely will be a sequel.
Why not? How many different actors have played Batman? You really think that just because Ledger is dead, the studios will forego ever doing the Joker again? That’s just silly. The Dark Knight made money. The Joker is a popular villain. He’ll be back, no matter who plays him.
Why not? Pixar is making Toy Story 3 and (ugh) Cars 2, so the studio is clearly not adverse to making sequels, and The Incredibles lends itself to sequels more than any other property they have, including the two they’re making sequels for. So far as I know, Brad Bird is still attached to the studio, so if someone came up with a script that they thought would work, I don’t see any particular reason they wouldn’t make it.
TBG beat you to it. Post 64.
