Wasn’t there a Ralph Bakshi animated Lord of the Rings in the late '70s? They divided the trilogy in half and then Part Two was never made.
Dawn Treader is still on it’s way, just not through Anderson &Disney:
Munch- they made a Neverending Story III, and a TV series also.
Passage to Marseille is a vague sort of sequel to Casablanca- it was a (failed) attempt to capture the magic of that famous film with much of the same cast and a similar setting.
The problem with that idea is that you have to explain Susan and Peter’s absence.
Is that a woosh? They’ve made nearly as many sequels to that as they have to Bond movies.
Or Malcolm I through IX, for that matter!
Dawn Treader is being made, but for about half the budget. I think Fox picked up where Disney left off.
The Chronicles of Riddick is clearly the first part of a trilogy. He sits down in the throne, is told that “we keep what we kill”, and becomes leader of the army.
Vin Diesel always says they are going to make it, but they still haven’t.

No. No, there wasn’t. No such movie was ever made. Please send anyone who claims the contrary to my office.

How about Boondock saints, whatever happened to the sequel here?
At least that one had good songs!
Last years very entertaining Rockanrolla ended with the promise of a sequel that got canceled because the movie didn’t do well.
2nd part. Pitch Black was retroactively made the first part of a planned trilogy. Stargate was meant to be part of a trilogy, but the production company decided to make it into a TV series instead (without Roland Emmerich). His outlines for the sequels were later made into novels.
No, Pitch Black was basically the prequel to the “Chronicles of Riddick” trilogy that dealt with the underverse.
However, they did slap “Chronicles of Riddick” onto the Pitch Black DVD title.
Yeah, but did they have that hot chick in fur and leather? Really, because that would be enough to get me to watch them. And if they brought back the original Pink Ranger.
It’s in post production and is due to be released this year.
Youtube channel here:
FWIW I read somewhere that they’re remaking The Last Starfighter, so it’s possible the remake could have a sequel.
As for the “Unfortunate Series of Events” movie, that didn’t do as well as the studio hoped, so they probably couldn’t afford the bazillion dollars that Carrey would have demanded to be in the sequel. The other two problems there are that the kids are too old now and the original had too much focus on Count Olaf and not enough on the kids.
Wouldn’t know, I’ve never watched any of the Pokeymans movies, I’m just aware they exist.
:smack: That’s Power Rangers not Pokeymans! And yeah, she was hot.
I’ll believe it when I see it. There’s surprisingly very little known about this. No clips have been leaked, no photos… just the rumor that they’ve wrapped up shooting. There’s no buzz about it at all. I predict either it’s a really sucky movie, or it’s not going to be released to theaters. Maybe straight to video?
Huh? That Youtube link is to the production diary. If that’s a hoax it’s a mighty intricate one.
It seemed to me that The Dark Knight ended with the strong possibility of a sequel that has the Joker in it. Obviously, that’s not going to happen now…
