Movies we're looking forward to

The Godfather, Pt. IV

There are possibilities with Vincent Mancini as the new Don Corleone and Connie controlling things behind the scenes.
Yeah, I know I’ll be waiting until hell freezes over unless Roger Corman picks up the rights. <sigh>

It’s been ages since I was able to get worked up over a movie. I was looking forward to Pearl Harbor when I first saw the trailer. The reality was somewhat of a letdown. I’d love to see the re-release of MP&THG but Phoenix isn’t on the list. The 7th biggest metro area in the US and we’re not getting it. Grrr!

I forgot to mention another one:

Ice Age

Has anyone seen the trailer for this? I think it’s freakin’ hilarious. I’m not sure, but is it another Pixar movie? I think Pixar makes such good films. Oh, and yes, I am also looking forward to Monsters Inc.

What’s LOTR?

Jurassic Park IV: Take Back the Island!
and of course
Jurassic Park V: The Island is Ours!

::ducking and running::

Nothing at the IMDb about the McKenzie brothers in a new movie. Sorry.

How about a Red Dwarf movie instead?

You can’t be serious!

If you must know, it’s Lord of the Rings

FOTR is Fellowship of the Ring

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
I love Kevin Smith. I even have the Jay and Silent Bob action figures, all the comics and the other day I bought the Wizard Magazine special edition just for the Jay and Silent Bob bumper sticker that says “Better Than Your P.O.S.” It’s in my cube at work.

Snoochie Boochies

I just saw the trailer today when I went to see The Princess Diaries (an amazingly hilarious movie btw).

I’m interested.

Sounds like it was going to happen, but now it’s dead, according to this page at Coming Attractions.

Oh, duh. Yeah, I think I’m sticking with Jurassic Park IV.

Terminator 3&4
Jurassic Park 4
The Fast and the Furious 2
Crazy Taxi(based on the game)
The new Hannibal Lecter movie
Indiana Jones 4
If a fourth Back to the Future movie is made I will see that
American Pie 2
Austin Powers 3
The Goonies 2
Gremlins 3
Men in Black 2
Matrix 2
Rat Race
Meet the Fockers(sequel to Meet the Parents)

Thats all I can remember now. I cant wait:D

Before reading this thread:

The Matrix II and III
Episodes II and III
T3 (hoping they won’t fuck it up).
Spiderman
Indiana Jones and…[insert glitzy archeological adventure](praying to the deities who populate the heavens that they finally decide to make it).

Afterwards:

Monty Python anf the Holy Grail: you guys have hyped it so much, I can not wait for the re-release to come out.

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back: well, this is possibly the best piece of news I have heard in a while. I had no idea such a project was on the works. What can I say? Life rocks

Anybody remember when movies were supposed to be fun? Any particular individual cares to flashback to a time when motion pictures were an outlet to get away from the ubiquitous banality of daily existence and immerse the mind in worlds unknown, living fantastic adventures through the magic of the cinematic experience and allowing unrestrained wonder to set free the child from epochs past?

Or, perhaps, criticizing every form of creative expression that doesn’t adhere to specific “artistic” clitchés–arbitrarily set by self-proclaimed experts, is actually more satisfying than indulging yourself in a couple hours of clean, wholesome entertainment.

Needless to say:

Anyhoo, off I go to watch Gossip. Mmm, Kate Hudson! Once again…life is good.

Of course I want to see J&SBSB and FOTR. That’s a given.

Besides that, the only trailer I’ve seen recently that looked interesting was Bandits with Bruce Willis and Billie Bob Thornton. But maybe that’s just cause I’m a sucker for heist movies…

Hmmm… this year–
I was looking forward to Rush Hour 2.
LOTR (eye candy), Vanilla Sky (I love Cameron Crowe), Monsters Inc, American Pie 2 (hey… it looks as funny as the first) , Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (Kevin Smith- no brainer), From Hell (Johnny Depp picks the best roles), Harry Potter (Books are entertaining, even though it is directed by Chris Columbus :-P. Regardless, going rumor is that this is the movie that will have the Episode II trailer)

Movies I don’t know when they are coming out–
Spider Man, Minority Report, Matrix 2, Austin Powers III, The Hulk (Ang Lee directs The Incredible Hulk-- how can you not be excited!) are all I can think of right now.

I wish the Enders Game movie would finally get off the ground :frowning:

And a quick response to Mr. Whatever-happened-to yada yada you know who you are.

OK-- the thread asked what movies you are looking forward to. Which means either you are way into movies and know in advance what movies may be really good like this. (For example, I knew about Memento way before my friends did, convinced them all to go see it and of course loved it.) OR-- you’re only seeing what the studio’s put out. So is it surprising that people are looking forward only to what they see. How can they look forward to things they are not aware are coming out? All we have to look forward to are what we see advertised, and hope that they are the movies that you bring up.

I’ll shut up now. I don’t think that made a lot of sense, but it does to me, so that’s allt hat matters I guess.
