nothing from recent trailers or any such thing, just movies we know about that we’ve marked our calendars for.
for me it’s The Minority Report and The Santa Clause 2.
The former is based on a really snazzy short story by Philip K. Dick; the latter is the sequel to one of my favorite movies (and I’m really not the Xmas movie type . . . but that movie was so damn funny I couldn’t possibly dislike it)
(You can’t tell I used to be a comic-book geek when I was younger, can ya?)
I’ll also second the LOTR movies. From the previews, it looks like they’re going to be beautifully shot, and with the amount of time it’s taken to get them made, it’s a good chance that they’ll be done right.
Definitely Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. I’ve had my calendar marked since they announced that it was supposed to be out August 3rd. (Damn Chris Rock and Jackie Chan!) Now they’ve bumped it to August 22.
For some reason, although I won’t really be marking my calendar for this one, I want to see the new Chris Kataan (sp?) movie “Corky Romano”. I know, I know. It looks stupid, but I have a twisted sense of humor, and it looks funny to me.
I think the Harry Potter movie could be interesting, although I’ve never had a chance to read the books. I also want to see that new Nicole Kidman film. I can’t remember the title, but the ads for it are really creepy and I love a good scary movie.
Jay and Silent Bob is coming out this month?! Damn, I feel like I been living under a rock. Gonna have to give Valkyrie a heads-up on this one.
The one she and I have both been waiting for, however, is Monsters Inc.. Seems like they been pushing it back forever; last I knew it was due out 2 Nov (birthday present!!) but that was a while ago. For all I know it won’t be out until 2002 now.
I’m looking forward to that new movie about the girl that’s really unpopular and gets made laughed at and made fun of. But she takes off her glasses and redoes her hair and suddenly she’s so popular everyone wants her.
It’s played by an actress who’s already drop dead gorgeous in real life, but gets “ugly” for this role and she said it was a real eye opener for her.
What is the name of that movie? Whatever it is, I’m really looking forward to it.
I think Osmosis Jones looked hilarious in the trailers. However, after waiting in huge anticipation for AI for months and then being disappointed in it, I’m trying not to get my hopes up…
The Lord of the Rings almost goes without saying. My husband and I have been following all LOTR news religiously.
And since my niece asked me nicely to read the Harry Potter books so we’d be able to chat about them, I’ve been insanely excited to see Harry Potter and the Sorceror’s Stone. Clever story, great characters.
Enderw24, are you thinking of The Princess Diaries, Garry Marshall’s new movie?
Not so fast! Star Trek X: Nemesis is coming out in what looks like 2001 (at least that’s what it says in the parentheses at the link). The link contains no spoilers, but has links to spoilers if you desire.
